Dain Carandang is a saxophonist and woodwind doubler based in Toronto. He is an active performer on flute, clarinet, and saxophones in a wide variety of settings such as big bands, orchestras, musicals, and studio recordings.
Dain just recently graduated from Humber College (2023), where he studied with some of Toronto’s finest jazz musicians, such as Kirk MacDonald, Mark Promane, and Alex Dean.
Some of Dain’s most recent achievements include performing as a member of the Shaw Festival Orchestra in “Damn Yankees” and “White Christmas”, as well as performances with the Niagara Symphony, the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival, and the Toronto Mandolin Orchestra. He also recently made his debut as a band leader for the Carandang-Pincente Jazz Orchestra at Humber Music’s 50th anniversary concert, making Dain Carandang a rising star and bandleader in the Toronto music scene.
