Scott Jolicoeur

Scott Jolicoeur is a guitar performer and teacher based out of Toronto, ON, quickly becoming one of Canada’s renowned young classical guitar players.

With a unique voice on the instrument and five years of teaching experience, Scott has taught and played many styles including Rock/Metal, Blues, Country, Jazz, and most notably Classical.

Scott has studied with many great guitarists including Dr. Ian Hodges in Winnipeg, and Rob Macdonald at the University of Toronto. Currently, Scott studies with Dr. Jeffrey McFadden at the UofT.

Scott has participated in masterclasses with some of the world’s greatest classical guitarists/pedagogs including Jason Vieaux, Robert Hamilton, and Rene Izquierdo.

From many lessons and masterclasses, Scott has developed a well-refined pedagogical method of his own for teaching the classical guitar to students.

He also developed a teaching method for non-classical genres (any electric/acoustic style), which helps students excel in their favourite genre.

Scott Jolicoeur is a well-rounded young professional and continues to help students of all age groups reach their goals.

We moved our three kids to North Toronto Institute of Music and saw their piano playing improve by leaps and bounds. Mary Kenedi was able to capture their interest and help them move forward. Her own skill with the piano and knowledge about music and music history inspires them to explore and push themselves. The format of the recitals makes them enjoyable and the more advanced students inspire all of us. We are happy parents indeed.
