This fun approach to creating music is excellent for composing and producing original ideas. Learning how to record music is increasing in demand in all genres, and a fun way to combine music and technology.
Offered by Tony Rosenberg, who is also running jazz combo instruction.

Do you want to learn how to improvise?
The North Toronto Institute of Music is now offering a new weekly jazz intensive for intermediate students who have an interest in being able to play music spontaneously with others, develop their inner ear, and connect deeper with their own instrument.
All instruments are welcome!
The North Toronto Institute of Music is pleased to announce a new addition to our school: the North Town Chamber Ensemble, a small chamber group for adult amateur string players!
All ages and levels are welcome; the only requirements are a sense of fun and friendliness and a love of music.
Share music together in a weekly small group performance masterclass.
Take advantage of the benefits of a group singing performance class; building your repertoire for auditions, improving presentation skills, reducing performance anxiety, building confidence, and learning from each other.
The 1.25 hour program will feature a technique warm up, a solo presentation as well as a group sing. A cultural diversity of styles ranging from classical, music theatre, to contemporary will be encouraged.
This can be used to prepare students for exams, auditions, and other presentations.
10 sessions 1.25 hour each:
TEEN – Tuesdays 4:45-6 pm, (October 11 – December 13, 2022)
YOUTH – Saturdays 9:45-11 am (October 15 – December 17, 2022)
$500 per student (limit of 6 per class)

NTIM's superb faculty and fully-equipped facilities enable students of all ages to learn well. Our curriculum provides an opportunity for your children to develop their talent, in a caring, personally attentive atmosphere. Enhance their knowledge and let them grow their love of music!
While there are many factors that impact a student's advancement, the skill and experience of the instructor are the most important elements by far. NTIM's instructors are not only teachers, but also performers with real life experience and know-how. Equip your child for success by trusting their learning to the best.
We've heard it said - "Practice makes perfect", and rightly so. We take it a step further by providing all students with opportunity to participate in music recitals, master classes, festivals and auditions. Performing at "live" events greatly enhances and develops performance skills, and allows students to share their artistic vision with others.
Explore the world of music and fulfill your potential with the help of our friendly, knowledgeable and experienced teachers.
Jesse began studying violin with Sheila nearly 5 years ago, and has made steady progress from day 1. Sheila is flexible with her teaching style and is positive, patient and understanding. She challenges him, and always provides good guidance and advice. Jesse greatly appreciates that she asks him for his opinion about both his playing and repertoire, helping him develop his ear, self-confidence, and engagement in his learning. The school’s twice-yearly recitals provide us with the opportunity to perform together (with me accompanying him) – a special experience for us both.

NTIM is a wonderful community of teachers aiming to help children grow through music. My son has been taking violin lessons at NTIM for almost 10 years. Over and above the deep musical expertise, there is also a very collaborative approach to ensure he is engaged and enjoying his musical experience.

We moved our three kids to North Toronto Institute of Music and saw their piano playing improve by leaps and bounds. Mary Kenedi was able to capture their interest and help them move forward. Her own skill with the piano and knowledge about music and music history inspires them to explore and push themselves. The format of the recitals makes them enjoyable and the more advanced students inspire all of us. We are happy parents indeed.
